A memoir-in-progress about the psychedelic '60s and the humane values that were created during that transformative period (really '67-'75 in my view) was itself transformed by the unfortunate election of President Donald Trump, an event that threatens human progress, democracy and the well being of our planet.
Please feel free to message me with comments, suggestions and critiques. One caveat: I do not engage with supporters of the president who have taken leave of their senses, especially those who view him as a figure sent by God to rule over us. I see no reason to waste my time or yours. I do love to hear about the adventures of people during the '60s, and now!
I have begun writing a blog that may be found on this website, a series of notes and short essays about subjects that interest me and may relate to the book in various ways. If things go well I may eventually pull it together as the basis for a follow-up volume. Please feel free to message me about its contents.
I've been a writer and editor since 1975, when I graduated from journalism school at University of Oregon. Along the way I've written three books and contributed to another. I also founded a city magazine and worked for newspapers, wires and websites in America and Asia for many years. As they say, it's been a long strange trip...
